Red flags to look for:
- Has poor handwriting
- Unable to follow simple instructions during tasks
- Takes excessive risks, jumping and crashing into anything
- Cries or covers their ears to avoid loud sounds
- Doesn’t like to be touched or can’t be touched enough
- Only wears certain clothes or needs tags cut off their shirts
- Won’t put their hands in anything messy or refuses to use food, glue, Play Doh
- Fears playground equipment or being tipped upside down
- Can’t handle crowded stores which may lead to a meltdown
- Child avoids socialization with peers or does not understand boundaries
- Child avoids eye contact
- Child walks on tiptoes or runs akwardly
- Can’t ride a bike or catch a ball
- Child prefers to lie down to play or “W” sits
- Child appears to be below age range with dressing skills including fasteners
- Child gags and/or spits up during feedings
- Child only eats certain foods or textures
- Child requires an excessive amount of time to complete meals and / or has difficulty chewing
